Mars! The imposing red planet named for the god of war. It was recently

aggressive activity, conflict and passion. Mars is always counterbalanced
by Venus. Where Venus suggests romance and perhaps courtly love,
Mars implies passion and physical lust. Where Venus draws us together,
Mars will drive us apart. But these same strong desires bring out
the qualities of leadership, decisiveness and action, the strength
of the will and a desire for dominance.
Since destruction is contained in creation Mars
focuses energy to tear down things that are no longer wanted and
build toward newer loftier goals. A tendency toward self-destruction
allows us to step out dangerously with no thought for our own safety
and risk all for the possibility of greater gain. The aggression
encourages us to fight for what we believe in and battle the baser
and negative aspects of life to overcome them and create the good.
But if the aggression of Mars is unfocused and
unchecked it can demonstrate only its negative aspects. Simply destruction
for destruction's sake, hurting and meanness, the annihilation of
self and those we hold dear. Like a child kicking over a tower of
blocks he has built, an uncontrolled Mars can slash out at carefully
laid plans and meticulously built achievements. In your horoscope
look for the reason of Mercury to balance the impulse of Mars or
the nurturing of Venus to balance Mars' aggression. The influence
